career & technical education center

Longview ISD is inviting community members to participate in a public nomination process to recommend names for the new Career & Technical Education facility at Longview High School. This new facility is part of Longview ISD’s 2024 Bond program, approved by voters to support student opportunities and future-focused learning spaces.

The nomination window will be open for seven days, giving families, alumni, staff, students, and community members an opportunity to submit recommendations through an online form. All submissions will be reviewed by the district’s naming committee and considered in accordance with Board policy, with final naming decisions made by the Longview ISD Board of Trustees.

“Longview ISD is proud of the history and people who make our district special,” said Superintendent Dr. Marla Sheppard. “We want this process to be open so our community can share their input to leave a legacy on a building that our students deserve.”

What to submit

Community members will be asked to propose a facility name and share a brief explanation of why the name is meaningful and how it aligns with district naming criteria. Submissions can also include additional background if the recommendation honors an individual.
