Classroom

Loved, supported, and ready to grow.
Explore Johnston-McQueen

At Johnston-McQueen Elementary, we help your child understand what they are learning, why it matters, and how they will know they have grown. We are a warm, purpose-driven school where students are known by caring adults, supported through strong instruction, and encouraged to take pride in their progress.

Students Own the Work ๐Ÿ’ก

We want your student to do more than complete assignments. Each day, students are encouraged to answer three simple questions: What am I learning? Why does it matter? How will I know I have learned it? That clarity helps your child understand the goal, take ownership, and see growth as something they can work toward.

A True Academic Home โค๏ธ

Johnston-McQueen is built to feel like a home away from home. From morning drop-off to the classroom, cafeteria, playground, and hallways, we believe every adult helps care for our students. Your child is not treated like a number here. They are part of a school family working together for their success.

Support for Every Learner ๐Ÿคฒ

We work to meet students where they are. Through WIN time, small-group support, dyslexia services, special education, structured learning environments, and deaf and hard of hearing support, we help your child get what they need to keep moving forward. We also support students who simply need extra time, encouragement, or a different path to understanding.

Growth Worth Celebrating ๐Ÿ“ˆ

We celebrate progress because progress matters. When students improve, move from one performance level to the next, answer more questions correctly, pass a new goal, or show stronger effort, we make that growth visible. Your student learns that success is not just about being perfect. It is about getting better.

Fun Run

Learning Beyond the Classroom ๐ŸŒŽ

We believe children need to see the world beyond the four walls of school. Field trips, museum visits, Sky Ranch, Texas Roadhouse, Southport, grade-level programs, and hands-on experiences help students connect learning to real life. Your child gets opportunities to explore, ask questions, and bring learning to life.

Families Help Us Soar ๐Ÿค

We believe strong schools are built with strong families. Parents and community members support our campus through PTO, Watch D.O.G.S., parent readers, campus feedback, playground improvements, donations, and volunteer opportunities. When you choose Johnston-McQueen, we want you to feel like you have a place here, too.
