Longview ISD is proud to celebrate Longview High School assistant football coach Josh Rankin for being selected to the inaugural Texas 50. This is a prestigious statewide honor recognizing the top assistant coaches in Texas high school football!
Chosen by a panel of legendary Texas football leaders, Coach Rankin is one of just 50 coaches across the state recognized for excellence in player development, leadership, and community impact. His dedication to shaping student-athletes both on and off the field makes him a true difference-maker for our program and our community.
The Texas 50 is a new statewide initiative designed to elevate the role of assistant coaches and connect top talent across Texas. In addition to recognition, honorees will participate in a virtual Master Class Series in April and attend a capstone event on June 17 in Waco.
Join us in congratulating Coach Rankin on this well-deserved honor!

There is no school tomorrow, Friday, April 3, in observance of Good Friday. 🗓️ We also want to share an important update about next week. Monday, April 6, will now be a regular school day for students. This day was first planned as a staff development day but has been changed to make up for lost learning time during January’s ice storm. We appreciate your flexibility. Thank you for your support.
