Built by the Bond: New Episode Community Spotlight

At Longview ISD, we believe our schools are more than buildings — they are stories, legacies, and opportunities for generations to come. That’s why we launched our new video series, Built By the Bond, to showcase how the 2024 voter-approved bond is not only improving facilities, but also celebrating the people and community behind the progress.

Today, we’re proud to release Episode 2: “Full Court Circle” — a web-only exclusive community spotlight now streaming at: : https://www.longviewisd.com/page/bond-updates .

This episode highlights one of our own: Mr. Ryan Carroll, Principal at Forest Park Middle School. Ryan grew up right here in Longview, starred as a Lobo basketball player, and was recruited to play at TCU before continuing his career overseas. Now, he’s come full circle — back in the very district that shaped him — to lead, guide, and inspire the next generation of Lobos.

“Every time we share a story like Ryan Carroll’s, we are reminded that the bond is about more than bricks and mortar — it’s about building futures,” said Dr. Marla Sheppard, Superintendent of Longview ISD. “We are deeply grateful to our community for supporting this vision.”

Episode 2 is only the beginning! More Built By the Bond stories are on the way, highlighting projects across the district and the people connected to them. Up next: a special lobo spotlight on the new softball field at Longview High School, with interviews that take us behind the scenes from design to dreams fullfilled.
