Longview ISD is proud to announce the hiring of Jonny Louvier as an assistant football coach at Longview High School, adding a well-known and deeply respected East Texas coach to the Lobos football staff.
Louvier brings a long and successful coaching background to Longview, with head coaching experience at Gladewater, Frankston, and Spring Hill, along with assistant coaching stops at Arp, Tyler Legacy, Gladewater, and Winnsboro. A Gladewater alumnus and former standout quarterback for the Bears, Louvier has built his career across East Texas and is widely known for his versatility, leadership, and ability to connect with student-athletes.
During his time as head coach at Gladewater, Louvier helped lead the Bears to multiple playoff appearances. In 2021, Gladewater finished 9-3 and advanced to the regional final, the fourth round of the Texas high school football playoffs, further cementing Louvierโs reputation as a proven leader in one of the stateโs most competitive football regions.
โJonnyโs the kind of coach you want in your program,โ Longview ISD Athletic Director and Head Football Coach John King said. โHe knows football, he knows kids, and he knows what it takes to do things the right way. Heโs coached all over East Texas, heโs been successful, and heโs got a great feel for building relationships with players. Heโs tough, heโs versatile, and heโs going to make us better.โ
District leaders say Louvierโs addition reflects Longviewโs continued commitment to bringing high-level experience, strong character, and deep regional ties into one of Texasโ premier football programs. This hire fills the opening created by Pat Houseโs departure and brings an experienced East Texas coach to the Longview High School football staff.
Louvierโs addition strengthens a Longview staff that continues to build on tradition, excellence and a strong commitment to student-athlete development. District leaders say his background, familiarity with East Texas football and wide-ranging coaching experience make him a strong fit for the next chapter of Longview High School football.
This move is part of a broader set of staff changes within the Longview High School football program. Landry Pepper is also being elevated into a varsity coaching role.
