Before you begin your back-to-school shopping for the upcoming 2026โ2027 school year, please take a moment to carefully review our updated LHS Dress Code General Guidelines. We want to ensure all students are set up for success with a safe, respectful, and distraction-free learning environment from day one!
Here are the KEY CHANGES you need to know before you shop:
๐ WHATโS OUT (Prohibited):
NO HOODIES: This includes pull-over hoodies, zip-up jackets with hoods, or any hooded garments. No hooded items will be permitted inside the building.
The "Why": This rule is being strictly enforced for campus safety and the immediate identification of our students on campus and in our hallways.
NO LEGGINGS / NO TIGHTS: Tights, leggings, biker shorts, or excessively tight bottoms cannot be worn as standalone pants. Tights/leggings may only be worn underneath skirts or dresses that independently meet the length requirement.
๐ WHATโS NEW (Allowed):
GREEN Bottoms Added! In addition to solid black, grey, brown, khaki, and navy, students can now wear solid green bottoms (pants, shorts, skirts, dresses, skorts, rompers, joggers, and sweatpants).
Graphic Tees Permitted: Graphic t-shirts are allowed as long as the design, wording, and imagery are school-appropriate and free of offensive, obscene, or divisive content.
๐ Quick Reminders:
Bottoms: Must be solid black, grey, brown, khaki, navy, or green.
Jeans: Permitted on FRIDAYS ONLY. No jeans are allowed Monday through Thursday.
Length: All shorts, skirts, and dresses must be no shorter than 3 inches above the top of the kneecap (a standard dollar bill can be used as a measurement guide!).
Letโs work together to keep our campus safe and focused on learning. Thank you for your continued partnership and cooperation! ๐ฒ๐

Crews have mobilized to the construction site and begun the initial phases of work on the new facility, which will provide Longview High School students with expanded space for athletic training, physical education, extracurricular activities, and special events. The project is part of the district's broader effort to modernize campus facilities and create spaces that support student success both inside and outside the classroom.
District leaders say the multipurpose building is designed to address current and future needs by providing a versatile space that can accommodate a variety of programs and activities throughout the year. The new building will feature flexible indoor space designed to support athletic development, strength and conditioning programs, student activities, and campus events. By creating additional dedicated space for these programs, the facility will help alleviate scheduling demands on existing campus facilities while expanding opportunities for student participation.
The project represents months of planning and collaboration among district administrators, architects, engineers, and construction professionals. Throughout the design process, the district focused on creating a facility that would serve multiple purposes while complementing ongoing improvements taking place across the Longview High School campus.
Construction of the multipurpose facility is one of several bond-funded projects currently underway, joining renovations, infrastructure upgrades, and new construction initiatives designed to enhance educational and extracurricular opportunities for students. District officials have emphasized that these projects reflect the community's commitment to investing in the future of Longview ISD.
As construction progresses, students and staff can expect to see continued activity at the project site, including foundation work, structural steel installation, and exterior construction in the coming months. The district will continue providing updates as major milestones are reached.
The new facility is expected to serve generations of students and reinforce Longview ISD's commitment to providing exceptional opportunities both in academics and extracurricular programs. #BuiltByTheBond

Concrete poured. Momentum building. The LHS cafeteria expansion is getting real. ๐๏ธ๐บ On Monday, crews poured concrete for the Longview High School cafeteria expansion, marking an exciting step forward in one of the most used spaces on campus.
This bond-funded project will give Lobos more room, better flow, and a refreshed cafeteria experience built for todayโs students and tomorrowโs growth. It is one more visible sign that the 2024 bond is moving from plans on paper to real improvements across Longview ISD.
Big things are taking shape at Longview High, and we canโt wait for our students, staff, and families to see the finished space. Thank you, Longview voters. This progress is #BuiltByTheBond.

Kennedi was honored with the prestigious Texas First Congressional Service Award, an annual recognition established by Congressman Nathaniel Moran to celebrate exceptional high school students across Texasโs First Congressional District. The award recognizes juniors and seniors who serve as โunsung heroesโ and exemplify the spirit of Texas through extraordinary acts of service, sacrifice, and volunteerism.
Throughout her four years of high school, Kennedi demonstrated an outstanding commitment to serving others by completing more than 1,000 community service hours. Her dedication, leadership, and willingness to give back to her community reflect the true meaning of servant leadership and make her highly deserving of this distinguished honor.
Congratulations to Dawson Jaskiewicz, a freshman at Longview High School, on an incredible season competing in Ultimate High School Bass Fishing!
During his freshman year, Dawson competed in seven tournaments and qualified for the invitational Classic tournament, where he earned a Top 10 finish and scholarship money through his outstanding performance.
Adding to this special accomplishment, Dawsonโs boat captain was Longview High School Class of 2021 graduate Cooper Mayes, making this achievement an even greater point of LOBO pride!

Wishing all of our Lobos a safe, bright, and wonderfully happy summer! Let's make it a great one! ๐

The Spring/Final Semester Exam Schedule is attached. Please review it carefully with your student.
Important Reminders:
Attendance is Key: Unless a student is officially exempt, they must be present on exam days.
The Stakes: Exams account for a major part of the final grade. Missing this assessment can significantly impact a studentโs overall average.
Exemption Process: Starting this Monday and Tuesday, students can pick up their exemption forms. They must take these to their teachers to get a signature IF they meet the criteria for exemption.
How to Check: To know if your student is exempt, simply review their completed form. A teacherโs signature next to a class confirms they are exempt from that specific final exam.
Letโs finish the year strong, Go Lobos! ๐บ๐
