Anyone may refer a student β including parents, teachers, and community members. Referrals can be completed online or by requesting a paper form from your school counselor.
Referral Forms:

What happens after a referral?
Referred students will take part in the G/T identification process, which includes:

β’ i-Ready diagnostic and CogAT assessments
Families will receive testing details ahead of time.
Longview ISDβs G/T program is designed for students who demonstrate advanced abilities, creativity, leadership, or exceptional academic potential. Our goal is to support their unique learning needs and challenge them in meaningful ways.
If you have questions, please contact Dr. Catina Love, District Success & Testing Coordinator, or reach out to your campus counselor.
Attention Foster Families!!
Longview ISD is launching a Holiday Food Drive Challenge to support our students and families in need this season. The competition begins immediately and will run through December 17th.
How the Challenge Works
Each campus will collect non-perishable food items throughout the drive.
To ensure every campus has an equal opportunity to win, results will be measured using a per-capita format. This means that the food collected at the campus will be divided by the number of students at each campus to ensure all campuses have an equal chance at the prizes.
The campus with the highest per-capita collection rate will win:
An 85-inch Smartboard, and
A Gaming Party for the students on that campus.

TonightβMonday, December 8βfrom 6:31 to 8:01 p.m., Longview First Assembly will be hosting their YoungLife Christmas Club!
Parents are invited to join us for dinner and to learn more about this yearβs Summer Camp opportunities.
We hope to see you there!

Thanks to this generous award, all 6th and 7th grade studentsβapproximately 550 learnersβwill have the opportunity to visit the Dallas Holocaust and Human Rights Museum, where they will engage in meaningful learning experiences that support our curriculum and broaden their understanding of history and human rights.
Congratulations to Ms. Thomas, and thank you to the LISD Foundation for supporting impactful educational opportunities for our students!

As we wrap up the semester, our Dragons will be taking Semester Exams and completing their i-Ready Middle-of-Year (MOY) assessments in Reading and Math. These tests help us measure growth, guide instruction, and ensure every student gets the support they need to be successful.

Foster Middle Schoolβs Select Choir has been invited to perform at the Belcher Center in a sold-out show! πβ¨
Our talented students will take the stage on December 5th from 6:15β6:50 PM. We are incredibly proud of their dedication, passion, and all the hard work theyβve put in under the amazing direction of Mrs. Reagans.

For the first time in Foster history, we have a student who has advanced to the State LDE contest! Miley Orozco is the AREA CHAMPION in Greenhand Spanish Creed Speaking. She will now compete at Sam Houston State University as one of the Top 24 contestants in this event. Her competition will range from schools all across the state of Texas. Please congratulate her when you get the chance!
Additionally, we had three other FFA members compete yesterday. Although we did not get the results we wanted, these students have been working INCREDIBLY HARD to get to this point and I couldnβt be more proud. Itβs tough competition at Area, with the competition being the Top 3 teams in each event from Longview District, Mineola District, Paris District, and Daingerfield District - basically all of North East/East Texas.
8th Place in Greenhand English Creed Speaking: Mario Barrios
11th Place in Greenhand FFA Quiz: Tatum Duey and Breanna Scott
We are so proud of these students and all their hard work!!! Go Dragons!

This 6 weeks, our FIRE Teachers are:
β Ms. Williams
β Mrs. Canada
β Mrs. A. Taylor
β Coach Davis
We are so grateful for each of these incredible educators and the hard work and heart they pour into their students! β€οΈπ©βπ«π¨βπ«π₯
