For the first time in Foster history, we have a student who has advanced to the State LDE contest! Miley Orozco is the AREA CHAMPION in Greenhand Spanish Creed Speaking. She will now compete at Sam Houston State University as one of the Top 24 contestants in this event. Her competition will range from schools all across the state of Texas. Please congratulate her when you get the chance!

Additionally, we had three other FFA members compete yesterday. Although we did not get the results we wanted, these students have been working INCREDIBLY HARD to get to this point and I couldn’t be more proud. It’s tough competition at Area, with the competition being the Top 3 teams in each event from Longview District, Mineola District, Paris District, and Daingerfield District - basically all of North East/East Texas.

LifeTouch has partnered with PhotoDay to give parents the ease and convenience they expect on Picture Day.
No student data is/was collected on Picture Day
No paper order forms, cash or check exchanges for your families
Easy mobile ordering right from your devices
Orders ship directly to your homes

Ordering for Individual pictures:
All proof packages will be sent to FMS (within 1 to 2 weeks of picture day) --> They will then be distributed through students' science class
There will be a code on the proof package that can be used to place an order at: MyLifetouch.com

FMS will conclude the second round of common assessments tomorrow with Social Studies. Social Studies Testing – Nov. 19: • 8th grade will have a full campus shutdown. All students should report to FMS. • 6th and 7th grades will take their Social Studies assessment during their regular class periods. They will adhere to their regular schedules. ⸻ 🥫 All-House Food Drive Ends Tomorrow Don’t forget—our All-House Food Drive benefiting Longview Caring & Sharing ends tomorrow! They are especially in need of: • Peanut butter • Canned green beans • Canned corn • Other non-perishable items Send items with your student to help their House earn points and support families in our community. ⸻ 📚 Support Academics at Home Want to help your student grow academically? Encourage them to log in to iReady through ClassLink and work in their personalized learning path for Reading and Math. Students should complete 30 minutes in each subject each week to stay on track. Let’s help our Dragons meet their academic goals! ⸻ 🥧 Pie the Principal — This Friday! Our Pie the Principal event has been moved to this Friday! FMS will continue administering the second round of common assessments next week. Only Math and Social Studies remain, as Reading and Science have already been completed. Updated Testing Schedule: • Nov. 18 – Math • Nov. 19 – Social Studies On Tuesday, Nov. 18, ALL students MUST report to Foster Middle School in the morning for the Math assessment, regardless of their usual first-period location. Please ensure your student arrives on time, gets plenty of rest, and eats breakfast. A free breakfast is available beginning at 7:30 AM. FMS will be administering the second round of common assessments this week and next. On Tuesday, November 11th, all students will take CA #2 for ELAR, which means all students should report to Foster Middle School for 1st period instead of going to the high school. Testing will begin around 8:15 AM, so please ensure your student arrives on time, gets plenty of rest the night before, and eats breakfast. A free and nutritious breakfast is available in the cafeteria beginning at 7:30 AM each morning. Testing Schedule: • Nov. 11 – ELA • Nov. 12 – Science • Nov. 18 – Math • Nov. 19 – Social Studies 8th grade will have a complete campus shutdown for all testing days (Nov. 11, 12, 18, and 19). 6th and 7th grades will shut down on Nov. 11 and 18, but will take Science and Social Studies assessments during their regular class periods.
