🏈 Big News for Lobo Nation! 🐺
Longview ISD is proud to celebrate Longview High School assistant football coach Josh Rankin for being selected to the inaugural Texas 50. This is a prestigious statewide honor recognizing the top assistant coaches in Texas high school football!

Chosen by a panel of legendary Texas football leaders, Coach Rankin is one of just 50 coaches across the state recognized for excellence in player development, leadership, and community impact. His dedication to shaping student-athletes both on and off the field makes him a true difference-maker for our program and our community.

The Texas 50 is a new statewide initiative designed to elevate the role of assistant coaches and connect top talent across Texas. In addition to recognition, honorees will participate in a virtual Master Class Series in April and attend a capstone event on June 17 in Waco.

Join us in congratulating Coach Rankin on this well-deserved honor!

Dear Parents and Guardians,

As the month of March comes to a close, we are quickly approaching the beginning of our Spring testing season. These assessments are a vital opportunity for our students to demonstrate the hard work and growth they have achieved throughout the school year.

Please be mindful that passing these End-of-Course (EOC) assessments is a graduation requirement for all students. Ensuring your student is prepared and present for these exams is a crucial step toward their successful completion of high school.

Our first set of assessments will be:
English I: Tuesday, April 7th
English II: Wednesday, April 8th

To ensure your student is prepared to do their very best, we ask for your support with the following:
Attendance: It is critical that students are at school on time.
Full Testing Sessions: We kindly ask that you avoid early check-outs on these days, as students need the full allotted time to complete their exams without interruption.
Preparation: Please ensure your student gets a good night’s rest and has a healthy breakfast on the morning of their test.

For information regarding the remaining EOC dates throughout the month of April, please review the attached flyer.

If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out. You can email npegues@lisd.org or contact the school at (903) 663-7100.

Thank you for your continued partnership in your student’s success!

March 19 – U.S. History EOC Simulation
March 25 – Algebra I EOC Simulation
March 25–27 – PSAT (10th Grade)

This week, we proudly celebrate our incredible school counselors and the impact they make every single day at Longview High School. Our counselors do far more than manage schedules—they advocate for students, support academic success, guide social-emotional growth, and help students navigate life’s challenges with care and compassion. They are trusted listeners, problem-solvers, and true champions for our students and families.

We encourage staff, students and parents to take a moment this week to write a note of appreciation to our counselors to thank them for all they do to support our LHS community. A kind word or simple thank-you goes a long way and means more than you know.

Our counselors serve our students in the following ways:
• Ms. Lovely – Students with last names A–E
• Ms. Simmons – Students with last names F–Le
• Ms. Spencer – Students with last names Li–Roc
• Ms. Cameron – Students with last names Rod–Z
• Ms. Beall – Dual Credit
• Ms. Coker – IS/DP
• Ms. Krueger – CTE/IBC Certifications
• Ms. A. Lee – Senior Class

Thank you to our amazing counseling team for your dedication, care, and commitment to helping every Lobo succeed. 💚
